A genuine introduction to the landscapes and culture of southern Morocco, the Merzouga desert tour will take you along certain sections of the Trans-Saharan route to discover the Sahara desert and the immense diversity of its landscapes..

These 5 days of total change of scenery will enable you to stroll through the narrow streets of the Ksar of Aît Benhaddou and admire the immensity of the desert from the top of one of the high sand dunes of the Erg Chebbi, to enjoy the comfort of a Berber inn in the High Atlas and camp in a desert bivouac, to lounge by a pool on the edge of the desert, to dine in the heart of the dunes or in a palm grove…

Merzouga Desert Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Dades Gorges

Departure from Marrakech at 10:00 am
Lunch at Télouet
Visit to the Glaoui Kasbah
Visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Ksar of Aït Benhaddou
Dinner and overnight at an inn overlooking the Dades Gorges

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Merzouga

Walk in the Todra Gorges
Lunch in the Todra Gorges or in Tinejdad
Visit to a museum in Tinejdad (one of the most beautiful in Morocco)
Dinner and overnight in an inn at the foot of the Merzouga dunes

Day 3 : Merzouga

Visit to a village of Gnaoua musicians
Lunch at an inn in Merzouga
Departure by camel caravan into the desert (1h30)
Dinner and overnight in a desert camp lost in the erg chebbi dunes

Day 4 : Merzouga – Agdz

Return from desert camp by camel (1h30), shower at the inn
Lunch in Alnif
Walk in a palm grove
Dinner and overnight in an inn in the Agdz palm grove

Day 5 : Agdz – Marrakech

Additional activity: quad biking and/or visit to a film studio in Ouarzazate
Lunch in Ouarzazate or on the road to Tizi n’Tichka (pass at 2260 m altitude)
Return to Marrakech around 6:00 pm
